FACULTY BIOS

D'Arcy Reynolds has over twenty years experience working in corporations and non-profits, including Electronic Data Systems, Automatic Data Processing and the American Composers Forum. Her work in management, operations and the computer industry has given her hands-on experience with product development, and first-hand knowledge of the importance of communication and team building. In her work as an educator and workshop leader, D'Arcy has taught creativity and process to individuals and groups for ten years.

In the creative arena,
Reynolds has received grants and commissions from the American Composers Forum, Noe Valley Chamber Music, the USIA, the American Music Center and Meet the Composer. Her music has been represented at many music festivals, including the Derriere Guard Festival, Festival of New American Music at CSU, Sacramento, the Nevada County Composers' Coalition Festivals and Music in the Mountains. She earned a B. A. with honor and an M.A. in music composition from Mills College, where she received the Paul Merritt Henry Prize for excellence in composition.






                                                                                        
Richard Burg
has worked with groups in organizations for                                               over two decades. As an organization development
consultant, specializing in culture change and the quality of workplace life, he has worked side by side with executives to create climates for positive change in their organizations. He has held both external and internal roles - as both management and executive staff - in technology, health care, finance, and design. Creating work environments that build and sustain trust, nurture open communications, and celebrate the richness of human experience is the primary focus of his consulting. Richard has helped leaders prove the power of putting people first - resulting in improved productivity, the celebration of diversity, and the experience of satisfaction at work.

A production potter in the 1970's, Richard now makes objects from found objects. Working in a small studio his work includes wrapping, creating decorative papers, and small assemblages. He is building a studio in which he plans to produce limited editions of letterpress broadsides. Richard attended Reed College and has an MA in Management from J. F. K. University.



Katrina Wreede has been violist/composer with the world-renowned Turtle Island String Quartet, performing on Entertainment Tonight and CNN International, violist with the San Jose, Oakland and Santa Cruz Symphonies, a jazz musician and a composer of music performed internationally. She has one gold record and has performed in forty-two states and nine countries. Her published works include a book for beginning adult violinists and "Violaerobics, a Technical Workout".

In addition to workshops throughout the US, she has taught at Santa Clara University and for several high school and youth orchestras. She taught at Berkeley High School through the American Composers Forum Composer in the Schools
program for six years, and was a Resident/Visiting Artist for Berkeley Symphony, the Clairborn School, the Berklee College of Music and Boston Conservatory. She founded and directs the Berkeley Young Composers Ensemble and the Living Wind Chime Project.
